Enjoy retirement, Brother Dan!

After more than 20 years of service to the racing industry, Brother Dan Stafford has retired as Catholic chaplain to Sydney racing. Brother Dan is a much-loved and well-known figure, having served for decades as chaplain to people at all levels of the industry – from owners, to jockeys, track staff, trainers and stablehands.

He has served on the ARCC Committee throughout most of that time and has been a passionate supporter of the work of ARCC more widely. Brother Dan was formally farewelled by the Australian Turf Club at Royal Randwick on Saturday 12 December and will be much missed.

Father Tom Stevens will replace Brother Dan as Catholic chaplain, working alongside Reverend Colin Watts and Miss Vicki Walker. We wish Dan well in retirement and look forward to his continued but more low-key association with the Racing Chaplaincy.
