Tamworth-based trainer, Stephen Meyer (aged 71), died as the result of injuries sustained after being kicked by a horse at Scone Race Club on Scone Cup day on Friday, 15 May 2026.
He was treated on scene by first-aid and ambulance officers and then transported to Scone Hospital, but despite the extensive efforts of medical staff he did not recover.
A brief ceremony in Steve’s honour, including a minute silence, was conducted at the Scone race meeting on the following day by ARCC National Chaplain, Rev Colin Watts.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Jenny, his children Daniel and Anna, and their families.
